Mycoplasma ELISA Test kit

Mycoplasma ELISA Test kit Intended Use
Mycoplasma IgG ELISA test kit is designed for the qualitative detection of IgG antibodies to Mycoplasma pneumoniae in human sera. The test may aid in the determination of the patients serological status, or may aid in the diagnosis of disease associated with Mycoplasma pneumonia.

Mycoplasma ELISA Kit Components:
• Microplate: 96 wells coated with inactivated M. pneumonia antigen
• HPR-Enzyme Conjugate Goat anti-human IgG
• Serum Diluent
• Calibrator
• Positive Control
• Negative Control
• TMB
• Stop Solution (1M H2SO4, 0.7M HCI)
• Wash Buffer (10X)

Method Principle
This Diagnostic Automation/ Cortez Diagnostics Inc. Human Mycoplasma ELISA test system is designed to detect IgG class antibodies to Mycoplasma IgG in human sera. Wells of plastic microplate strips are sensitized by passive absorption with Mycoplasma IgG antigen. The test procedure involves three incubation steps. For further details please refer to complete instructions manual supplied with the product.

Background Information
Mycoplasma pneumoniae is a prokaryote and the smallest and simplest self-replicating microorganism know. It more closely resembles a bacterium rather than a virus. However, because it lacks a cell-well, a resistance to cell-well-active antibiotics such as penicillin and cephalosporin is obvious. Mycoplasma pneumoniae is the most common cause of pneumonia and febrile upper- respiratory tract infections in the general population after influenza A. Other nonrespiratory complications may also develop with the disease in virtually any organ system, with insult ranging from mild to life-threatening. Species-specific antibodies to surface antigens are readily detected by ELISA; even in the early stages of the disease. The diagnosis therefore, is best achieved serologically.
